Service Description
You'll learn how to work with an axe in the woods. So satisfying it's therapeutic! We'll cover: *Axe safety *Choosing an axe *Axe anatomy and what each part is called and used for *3-4 different techniques for splitting wood - ideal for making kindling and firewood *Snedding limbs - taking side branches off a log *Crosscutting logs - how to cut a log into sections without a saw *Carving - using a small axe on finer work such as a spoon blank *Care and maintenance - how to sharpen the axe and store it safely There'll be plenty of time to practice your skills as we chop up firewood, which'll make you warm up whatever the weather. The woodland kettle will be simmering all day with tea, coffee and water provided. There's parking on site and a composting loo as well. This is a private tuition woodland experience for 1-3 people (fixed fee). PLEASE ENQUIRE FOR DATES TO SUIT YOU
