About the Event
Fire by friction - or fire by frustration as some people call it!
It is one of the primitive methods of making fire with very little materials, just a bootlace or piece of cord and a knife.
Bow drill, once achieved, is one of the most satisfying feelings around, as you blow a tinder bundle into flames after all your hard effort, it's sure to put a big grin on your face!
On this masterclass we'll cover the theory of bow drill as I believe it's much easiert to learn once you know exactly what it is you're trying to accomplosh, and why.
We'll practice with a pre-made set, and if we get time you'll have a go at making your own kit.
The time required varies with each student so your path to success might be short or long, but I'll be able to point out to you all the variables to think about and correct, from your stance and position to your wood selection and carving.
This course has a maximum of 3 students.
