We'll talk about the ingredients needed to make fire, and several different ways a fire can be ignited.

I'll demonstrate a couple of these techniques and then the kids will have a go using a firesteel to light a small fire.

As a group we'll build a small wood pile and light it by blowing a tinder bundle into flames.

The kids will also learn about grading different sizes of firewood and have a go at splitting some wood into smaller pieces using safe technique.

Once the fire is lit we'll pop some popcorn over it.

Hopefully your child will leave with a fascination and respect for fire.

Tea & coffee will be available all day for the adults.
