About the event
If you don't know your beech from your birch or your elder from your alder this is the walk for you! No prevous knowledge required but plenty will be dished out!Â
We'll take a tour on the Ridgeway national trail looking at around 15 common trees in their witer state. I'll explain their habitat, how to identify them (without their leaves!), and their traditional uses for woodwork, fire, food and medicine.
Parking is available on side streets in Princes Risborough.
The walk is a moderate grade with 1 steep, stepped incline, then muddy trails.
Suitable for beginners.
Walk takes place near the town of Princes Risborough. Meet on the grass at the junction of New Road and Oak road (top of the hill behind M&S) Postcode: HP27 0BW Grid Ref. SP 81224 03141. Park on one of the nearby side streets beng careful not to bock driveways, or in Horns Lane car park by M&S, which can get full quickly.
