About the event

Starting in a private woodland near Great Hampden in The Chilterns, we'll venture out on a short walk to gather some plants.

I'll teach you how to make:

  • A healing skin balm, ideal for stings, rashes and small cuts
  • A tincture which could be used as an anti-imflammatory, digestive bitters, or lymphatic drainer, depending which plants we find (contains alcohol - we can swap for glycerin if you do not wish to use alcohol).
  • A primitive wound healing wash
  • An anti-viral mushroom tea/infusion*

You'll get to take your creations gome with you.

*Depending on the plant availability we may take a short drive off-site to collect different species. We may also mix and match the above recipes and creations depending on the exact conditions and plant availability on the day of the course.

We'll sit around the campfire to infuse our plants in oil and alcohol to extract the beneficial chemicals inside.

Note that herbal medicines are not as strong as western medicine so will not necessary heal any conditions you may have as quickly or effectively and are meant to be used as additional aids for minor complaints. Always speak to your doctor if you're unsure about a treatment plan for any conditions you may have.

Parking is available on site.

You must bring along at least 4 clean, empty jam jars, or other heat resistant containers with screw top lids - you'll take away your balms and tinctures in these. If you cannot get hold of these I can supply them for an additional charge.
